Overview

SSPDU-28D-16-238-EXX is part of Verte Elektronik’s family of high-power, low-profile power distribution solutions. Specifically designed for naval applications, this model securely distributes a wide input voltage range of 6–48VDC across 16 independent channels to supply connected loads.

Thanks to its solid-state switching technology, it offers a Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) that is 20 times higher than conventional electromechanical PDUs and requires minimal maintenance.

The device can be configured and monitored via CAN interfaces compliant with RS-422 and RS-485 standards. It features a wide range of advanced functions including channel paralleling, user-adjustable I²T protection, battle mode, emergency shutdown, and high-capacitance load control. With its built-in test system, the unit continuously monitors its own health during operation and notifies the user in the event of a fault.

Compact Power Distribution for Marine Platforms

The EXX version is the specially optimized model of the SSPDU family for naval applications. Its resistance to salt humidity, vibration, and electromagnetic interference ensures safe and reliable operation on both surface and underwater platforms.

Smart Protection Features

User-defined I²T protection settings can be configured for each channel. This system safeguards against sudden inrush currents or capacitive loads. Additionally, by controlling the output voltage rise time, it helps prevent damage to connected equipment.

Battle Mode and Emergency Shutdown

In combat scenarios, the battle mode allows all protections—except for short-circuit protection—to be bypassed, ensuring uninterrupted power to critical loads. Conversely, in emergency situations, the system can instantly shut down all outputs to enable a safe power-off.

Continuous Built-in Testing and High Reliability

The Built-in Test (BIT) system continuously analyzes the internal status of the device during operation and provides alerts in the event of a fault. With an MTBF value 20 times higher than electromechanical systems, it enhances operational continuity and minimizes the risk of failure.
